Why nobody uses Macs outside USA? we, foreigners don´t like apples? Well, we love them, but not if they cost an arm and a leg. The magazine MacMagazine released the new, lower official prices for Apple Hardware in Brazil. Can you spell 100% more expensive?
Sorry, Steve, but $313 for a 2GB Nano is way too expensive. Everybody wants your toys, but we love our wallets, too. I know a lot of the price is taxes, but unless you do something, your international sales will always be irrelevant.
Dell Brazil charges only US$27 for XP Home, bundled with new computers. Does Microsoft charges the same in USA? I doubt it. They´re rewarding consumers worried about piracy, charging a nominal fee, but creating loyalty. Dell also sells a basic desktop for less than US$400,00.
My notebook died a few months ago, I wanted a MacMini, but hey, they cost US$1300 here. I can by a whole notebook for less than US$1000, totally legal, with warranty, CDs and lots of cute labels.
Do I want to have an Apple? You bet. You I buy one? No way. I love your products, but I love my money more.
